Vittadinia hispidula F.Muell. ex A.Gray APNI* Description: Annual erect herb, bristly, with a few glandular hairs.
Leaves linear, oblong to obovate, 10–30 or rarely to 60 mm long, to 10 mm wide, apex obtuse and minutely apiculate, margins often lobed; ± sessile.
Peduncles corymbosely arranged from the upper axils. Heads 6–7 mm long; involucral bract with apex sometimes purplish. Ray florets white to purple.
Achenes oblanceolate to elliptic, 2–3 mm long, pale marginal ridges convergent above; ridges and faces with short sparse hairs; ribs absent; pappus 5–6 mm long.
Flowering: most of year.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest; often along roadsides and behind beaches, north from Batemans Bay.
