Viola eminens K.R.Thiele & Prober APNI* Description: Perennial herb spreading by stolons.
Leaves broad-reniform, mostly 12–15 mm long, 25–35 mm wide, usually forming rosettes; truncate at the base or with a broad basal sinus, glabrous or with scattered unicellular hairs, margins with prominent teeth, bright green; petioles 2–12 cm long; stipules narrow-triangular to broad triangular with small glandular teeth on each side.
Flowers on scapes to 25 cm long and exceeding the leaves, violet and white; anterior petal ovate to broad ovate, with a large green V shaped blotch at the base, rich violet for over half its length, with a small white apex; lateral petals widely spreading, strongly twisted, rich violet at the base; dorsal petals obovate to broad-obovate erect to strongly reflexed, white for most of their length.
Fruit white or pale green. Seeds 1.6–2.6 mm long, purplish black.
Distribution and occurrence: Southern Tablelands at Glenbos State Forest and Nungatta Mountain and in moist high altitudes in Victoria. In moist sites.
