Veronica brownii Roem. & Schult. APNI* 
Description: Perennial herb with arching or prostrate stolons to 50 c. or more long and flowering stems 10–25 cm high, with fine rigid recurved hairs 0.1–0.2 mm long in lateral bands.
Leaves with lamina broad- to narrow-ovate or ± triangular, mostly 0.8–2 cm long, 2.5–15 mm wide, apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate or truncate, margins with 2–5 pairs of deep acute teeth; petiole 1.5–5 mm long.
Racemes lateral, mostly 3.5–12 cm long 3–15-flowered; peduncle mostly 1.5–4.5 cm long; bracts 2–6 mm long; pedicels 8–15 mm long. Calyx lobes 3–6 mm long and 0.8–2 mm wide in fruit, margins with very short papillose hairs. Corolla 3.5–4 mm long, pale lilac.
Capsule ovate, 2–4 mm long, 3.5–5.0 mm wide, emarginate, with scattered fine hairs < 0.1 mm long or glabrous.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in eucalypt forest in valleys of the Blue Mtns, mostly 350-1000 m. alt., Mt Coricudgy, Grose and Megalong Valleys to Mt Movin.
