Description: Perennial herb, almost glabrous.
Leaves oblanceolate to narrow-elliptic, 4–12 cm long, to 10 mm wide, margins ± toothed.
Scapes ascending, to 40 cm high; bracteoles free, lanceolate to ovate, to 20 mm long, sometimes with ciliate margins. Sepals 5, free; upper one oblong to narrow-ovate, 10–12 mm long. Corolla 12–20 mm long, with spur 3–6 mm long, deep yellow, brownish towards throat, pubescent outside, ± glabrous inside, lobes ± equal; wings almost to base of lobes, 1–1.5 mm wide. Indusium oblong, 5–6 mm long, c. twice as long as broad.
Capsule ovoid, 6–8 mm diam., mostly pubescent; seeds elliptic, c. 4 mm wide, smooth; wing 2 mm wide.
Flowering: chiefly July–January
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in drier communities on sandy soils and rocky sites in the Broken Hill area.
