Urochloa praetervisa (Domin) Hughes APNI* 
Description: Erect or ascending annual with culms to 0.6 m long.
Leaves with ligule a row of short cilia; blade 4–13 mm wide, sparsely pubescent or glabrous, margins often somewhat undulate.
Inflorescence of 2–8 sub-erect or somewhat spreading racemes, the lower 2–6 cm long and simple or again shortly branched near the base; pedicels mostly 0.5–3 mm long, long-hairy to scabrous; spikelets loosely and irregularly arranged, mostly in pairs except towards the top. Spikelets 3.5–4 mm long, usually glabrous. Lower glume c. 30% as long as the spikelet and embracing its base; upper glume 7-nerved, as long as the spikelet. Lower lemma similar to the upper glume, mostly 5-nerved; palea present. Fertile lemma a little shorter than the spikelet, obtuse with a short mucro, finely rugulose.
Flowering: Flowers in response to rain.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on poorer soils of inland areas.
