Trifolium vesiculosum Savi APNI* 
Description: Erect annual herb to 80 cm high; glabrous.
Leaves palmately 3-foliolate; leaflets lanceolate, elliptic or obovate, 15–40 mm long, 5–15 mm wide, margins finely toothed, often with a white arrow-shaped marking across the middle of the upper side of leaf.
Inflorescences globose, becoming cylindrical, 3–6 cm long, 2.5–3.5 cm wide; ± sessile to long-pedunculate, peduncle up to 5 cm long. Flowers sessile. Calyx tube 20–30-veined, c. 3 mm long, throat open; teeth spine-like, ± equal to the length of the tube, reflexed in fruit. Corolla 12–15 mm long, white, pink or mauve, persistent.
Pods ovoid, c. 4 mm long, 2- or 3-seeded, included in calyx.
Flowering: Flowers spring to summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grown as a forage crop; occasionally naturalized. Native of Medit.
