Description: Prostrate, glabrous annual; branches to 40 cm long.
Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets ovate-cuneate, 4–15 mm long, 4–10 mm wide, 1–1.5 times as long as broad, finely toothed.
Inflorescences umbellate to globose, c. 10 mm long and diam., 8–20-flowered, axillary; peduncle shorter than subtending leaf. Flowers on pedicels c. 2 mm long, deflexed after anthesis. Calyx tube 5–20-veined, throat open; teeth subequal, spiny, erect in pod. Corolla 4–5 mm long, equal to or longer than calyx, pink, persistent.
Pod oblong, 3–4 mm long, 1–4-seeded, exserted from calyx.
Distribution and occurrence: Widely naturalized, south from Wyong district. Native of Eur., N Afr.
