Taeniophyllum sp. Whian Whian (A.R.Maslin 141) APNI* Description: Epiphyte with photosynthetic roots c. 1 mm diam., terete.
Inflorescence 0.7–2 cm long, 2–5 flowered; rachis longer than peduncle, papillate; pedicel plus ovary 1–1.5 mm long.
Flowers tubular, opening successively, 1 or 2 at a time. Ovary smooth or tuberculate. Sepals and lateral petals narrow-triangular, recurved towards the tips, united for varying distances from their bases, 1.5–2 mm long, pale green to yellow-green.
Flowering: June–October
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on outer branches and branchlets of rainforest trees; coastal ranges, north from the Bellinger R.
NSW subdivisions: NC
Differs from Taeniophyllum muelleri in the papillate rachis and yellow-green flowers that do not have a conspicuous, bulbous labellum spur.
