Description: Perennial subshrub, usually about 30 cm high but sometimes to 150 cm, alternate, crowded along the stem.
Leaves linear, 1–4 cm long, c. 1 mm wide, margins often revolute, lamina glabrous.
Scape 15–45 cm high with one main panicle and several lesser racemes, almost smooth. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long, shorter than ovary. Corolla 10–15 mm long, pale pink, tube longer than sepals, petals almost equal, oblong, with a few glandular hairs on the outer surface. Column 6–7 mm long. Ovary 3–4 mm long, glandular-hairy.
Capsule ± oblong, 8–12 mm long; numerous, seeds dark brown, nearly smooth.
Flowering: spring to early summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll forest in mountainous country or rocky places on sandstone or granite; widespread.
