Striga parviflora (R.Br.) Benth. APNI* Description: Erect hoary herb to 14cm high, sparsely pubescent.
Leaves linear, to 15 mm long, 1 mm wide, antrorsely scabrid with white crystalline-based hairs.
Calyx 5-ribbed, 2–3 mm long; corolla purple-pink, 6 mm long, tubular with shortly spreading lobes, upper lip 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed.
Capsule enclosed in calyx, brown, ovoid.
Flowering: Late spring to autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Rare. On shallow soils in woodland.
NSW subdivisions: NC, NWS, CWS
Other Australian states: Qld N.T.
In Queensland often found as a weed in sugar cane areas.
