Description: Rhizome long-creeping.
Fronds usually c. 1 m high; stipe green or brown; primary lateral axes usually 1 or 2 pairs, rarely more, each branched acutely once or twice close to the main rachis, axes glabrous or slightly scaly, primary lateral axes lacking pinnules between the main rachis of the frond and the first dichotomy; pinnules finely toothed to their bases; pinnules at an angle of c. 450 to the axis, glabrous, dark green and shiny above, pale or slightly glaucous and ± glabrous below, 2–3 cm long, margins toothed but never lobed.
Distribution and occurrence: Forms large colonies along creeks or in moist gullies.
