Stenanthemum leucophractum (Schltdl.) Reissek APNI* Synonyms: Cryptandra leucophracta Schltdl. APNI*
Description: Spreading shrub to 40 cm high, often flowering when 10 cm high, branches rusty-tomentose.
Leaves obovate to obcordate, 4–8 mm long, 3–6 mm wide, apex recurved, both surfaces whitish or rusty-tomentose; stipules linear, 2–3 mm long.
Flowers in sessile heads 5–10 mm across, subtended by small brown bracts and 2 or more ± felted, whitish spathulate floral leaves to 10 mm long. Flowers c. 4 mm long, silky.
Flowering: summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Usually in mallee communities, not common; from Ardlethan west to the Hillston district.
