Sporobolus laxus B.K.Simon APNI* Description: Erect tufted perennials to c. 1.5 m tall.
Ligule a finged membrane to 0.1 mm long; blade to 1 mm wide, glabrous.
Inflorescence to 45 cm long, open; primary branches solitary, divergent to spreading, as long or longer than the adjacent internode, the lower 25% without spikelets; pedicels 0.4–2 mm long, straight or flexuose. Spikelets to 2 mm long. Glumes membraneous; lower 0.5–1 mm long, acute or obtuse, nerveless; upper glume 1–15 mm long at least 50% spikelet length, acute, faintly 1-nerved, minutely scabrous. Lemma to 2 mm long, acute, emarginate, faintly 2-nerved.
Distribution and occurrence: Coastal woodlands.
