Description: Erect herb, glabrous in all parts.
Leaves linear, 5–20 mm long, c. 2 mm wide.
Pedicels 3–20 mm long, not usually sharply deflexed after flowering. Sepals c. 3 mm long. Stamens 5.
Capsule broad-ovoid; seeds flattened, 2–2.5 mm in diam., with a scarious wing as wide as the diam. of the seed body.
Flowering: September–December
Distribution and occurrence: Usually smaller than S. arvensis. Uncommon weed of disturbed ground. Native of Eur.
