Solanum curvicuspe Domin APNI* Description: Erect shrub 1.5–3 m high, with very densely stellate-tomentose branchlets; prickles sparse, rare to occasional on branchlets and mature leaves, frequent on juvenile leaves, usually absent elsewhere.
Leaves narrow-ovate to elliptical, 7–13.5 cm long, 1.7–3.7 cm wide, entire or slightly lobed; upper surface grey-green, shortly and densely stellate-hairy, lower surface white to pale yellow, very densely stellate-tomentose; lateral veins often prominent below; petiole 1–1.7 cm long. Juvenile leaves 10–14 cm long, distinctly lobed.
Inflorescences 3–9-flowered; pedicels 7–11 mm long at anthesis. Calyx 5.5–9.5 mm long; lobes 2.5–5.5 mm long, often attenuate. Corolla rotate, 20–25 mm diam., purple.
Berry 17–22 mm diam., pale green; fruiting pedicels 15–20 mm long.
Flowering: August to October.
Distribution and occurrence: Occurs on the coastal ranges from Kempsey to Gloucester, NSW. Grows in disturbed sites in notophyll rainforest or wet eucalypt forest with rainforest understorey.
