Sieruela monophylla (L.) Roalson & J.C.Hall APNI* Synonyms: Cleome monophylla L. APNI*
Description: Annual herb to 1 m high.
Leaves with lamina usually lanceolate to oblong, 1–5 cm long, pubescent on both surfaces with short glandular and longer non-glandular hairs; similar hairs on stem.
Bracts leaf-like, pedicels c. 10 mm long. Petals 8–10 mm long, pink to mauve. Stamens 6.
Capsule 3–8 cm long, covered by glandular and non-glandular hairs, longitudinally striate, sessile or gynophore to 3 mm long.
Distribution and occurrence: Not common, probably not fully naturalized. Native of India, also in E Afr.
