Description: Erect shrub to 2 m high, with thick velvety stellate tomentum with golden or ferruginous hairs on younger parts.
Leaves with lamina ovate to lanceolate, mostly 1–5 cm long, c. 2 mm wide, base obtuse or cordate, margins bluntly or acutely dentate; stipules early deciduous.
Flowers solitary in leaf axils or in axillary clusters of 2–6 through an association with developing shoots; pedicel articulated, 4–20 mm long. Calyx 5–10 mm long, not greatly enlarging in fruit, stellate-tomentose, lobes acute or acuminate, clasping the fruit. Petals yellow, 6–12 mm long.
Fruit transverse-ellipsoid, raised apically, pubescent, 4–6 mm diam.; mericarps 5, shortly stellate-hairy, wrinkled on the back, reticulate on lateral wall.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on rocky hill slopes.
