Description: Prostrate to procumbent, stellate-tomentose subshrub.
Leaves with lamina narrow-ovate to linear-lanceolate, 1.5–4.5 cm long, 20 mm wide, rounded or subcordate at base, margins serrate, surfaces greyish above, paler and more densely pubescent below; stipules filiform, 1.5–3.5 mm long, often dark-coloured.
Flowers cymose or racemose, usually 3–7, sometimes appearing solitary on pedicels to 2 cm long, not exceeding leaves. Calyx unribbed, 3–4 mm long, with broad triangular acute lobes 1–1.7 mm long, woolly-hairy. Petals yellow to orange, 3–5.5 mm long, emarginate.
Fruit transversely elliptic, rounded or acuminate apically, 3.3–6.5 mm diam., smooth or slightly corrugated, deeply grooved between mericarps, pubescent; mericarps 5–8, slightly wrinkled on lower back, reticulate on lateral wall, splitting narrowly in 2 at apex, unawned.
Flowering: Flowers usually spring or autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on clay soils, sandy or gravelly soils in shrubland or woodland.
