This is a hybrid between Rumex crispus and R. obtusifolius that occurs occasionally where the two species grow together. It is the most common hybrid found in Australia (Rechinger 1984: 115) and in Europe (Rechinger, Fl. Europaea edn 2, 1: 105 (1993); illustr. J.E. Lousley & D.H. Kent, Docks and Knotweeds British Isles, BSBI Handbook 3: 135, 165(12) (1981).
