Rotala rotundifolia (Roxb.) Koehne APNI* 
Description: Perennial or annual herb with creeping stems, erect, floating or creeping.
Leaves opposite, decussate, ± circular, up to 12 mm long and wide, upper surface pale green, lower surface whitish green to reddish.
Flowers sessile, in terminal, many-flowered spikes. Hypanthium c. 1 mm long. Sepals 4, appendages absent. Petals 4, obovate, mauve to pink. Stamens 4, inserted near the base of hypanthium. Style to 0.5 mm long.
Capsule ellipsoid, 2–4 mm long, 4-valved.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in damp areas or submerged in water, occasionally naturalized. Flowers spring. Native of S Asia.
