Common name: Strawberry Buttercup
Ranunculus collinus R.Br. ex DC. APNI* 
Description: Perennial, almost glabrous or pubescent with appressed or spreading hairs.
Flowering stems simple or branched, 3–22 cm high, usually recurved in fruit.
Leaves with lamina oblate or circular, 7–30 mm long and 3–50 mm wide, usually ternately divided or lobed with segments obovate with cuneate base and further lobed; petiole mostly 1–15 cm long. Flowers 12–16 mm diam. Sepals spreading or rarely reflexed. Petals 5–11, narrow-elliptic to obovate, 5–9 mm long, 1.5–5 mm wide, bright golden-yellow; nectary lobe forming a semicircular or oblong pocket.
Achenes 10–30, 2–2.5 mm long. Receptacle glabrous or with short hairs among both stamens and achenes.
Flowering: spring to summer.
Distribution and occurrence: In moist grassy tableland sites in eucalypt woodland or on wet mud, mostly on basalt or granite. Specimens from the CT are mostly more robust and pilose than Vic. and Tas. material and there is doubt as to their identity.

Other Australian states: Vic. Tas.
In areas around Corricudgee (Northern Tablelands) the plants are stoloniferous. In forest areas there is at least one distinctive form which may be a new species. More research is being carried out.
