Pterostylis ampliata (D.L.Jones) D.L.Jones APNI* Synonyms: Pterostylis sp. B sensu Harden (1993) APNI*
Description: Terrestrial herb.
Rosette leaves 3–4, ovate to oblong, 1–4.5 cm long, 5–18 mm wide, margins entire; petiolate.
Scape to 25 cm high, with 3–5 closely sheathing to spreading stem leaves. Flower 4.5–7 cm long, partially nodding, green and white with red or red-brown suffusions in the galea. Dorsal sepal with a filiform point to 12 mm long. Petal margins not flared. Lateral sepals tightly embracing the galea; sinus broadly V-shaped, nearly flat or protruding in a shallow curve when viewed from the side; free points to 45 mm long, filiform, erect or usually recurved. Labellum narrow-ovate to lanceolate, long-acuminate, 18–24 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, dark red-brown, curved, the distal half protruding from the sinus in the set position.
Flowering: March–June.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on ridges and slopes in sclerophyll forest from the coast to inland.

Other Australian states: Qld Vic.
Pterostylis ampliata is similar to P. revoluta but differs by the longer labellum lamina (18-24 mm versus 14-16 mm long) and larger flowers (35-40(-70) mm versus 24-29 mm long).
