Description: Small tree or tall shrub to 12 m high.
Leaves broad-ovate to oblong-ovate, mostly 8–12 cm long, 25–45 mm wide, apex acuminate, venation distinct on both surfaces, upper surface glossy and green, lower surface paler, several domatia usually present; petiole 1–1.5 cm long.
Flowers in dense cymose panicles; pedicels c. 1–2 mm long. Calyx c. 1 mm long, 4-lobed, minutely pubescent. Corolla white; tube c. 4 mm long; lobes 4, ± equal to tube. Stigma ovoid.
Drupe compressed-obovoid, c. 8 mm diam., black.
Flowering: Flowers late summer to autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in littoral, subtropical or dry rainforest; north from Woolgoolga.
