Pseudanthus orientalis (Baill.) F.Muell. APNI*
Description: Rigid shrub with decumbent stems to 30 cm long, glabrous.
Leaves opposite or alternate, often crowded, oblong-linear to linear-spathulate, 4–10 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, apex obtuse and often recurved, concave.
Flowers yellowish; male flowers small, peduncle 1–3 mm long, female flowers sessile. Male perianth segments pale, stamens crowded, inner ones slightly longer than the outer ones. Female perianth segments 1.5–2 mm long, pale to slightly reddish.
Capsule oblong, c. 4 mm long, oblong, glossy, brown.
Flowering: late summer to autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on coastal dunes and heath.
