Prostanthera howelliae Blakely APNI* 
Description: Erect or low spreading shrub, 0.3–1 m high, diam.
0.5–1.5 m, aromatic; branches densely covered with short, antrorse and/or ± curled hairs, densely covered with ± sessile glands.
Leaves with lamina narrow-ovate, 2.5–10 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide; apex obtuse; base rounded; margins entire and recurved; surfaces mid green, often with maroon tinge, moderately covered with short, ± tuberculate hairs; moderately glandular (especially on lower surface); petiole to 0.1 mm long. Flowers axillary; bracteoles persistent, c. 1.5 mm long. Calyx 4–5 mm long; tube 2–2.5 mm long; upper lobe c. 2 mm long, not or only slightly enlarged in fruit. Corolla 8–10 mm long, pink- to purple-mauve, with dark red, maroon or purple dots in throat. Anthers without appendage, each loculus with a basal tuft of coarse hairs.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in woodland and shrubland in sandy loamy soils, often gravelly, overlying sandstone.
