Prostanthera densa A.A.Ham. APNI* 
Description: Erect, often compact shrub 0.5–2 m high, aromatic; branches, leaves and calyces densely covered with long, spreading hairs.
Leaves with lamina ovate, often appearing triangular, 10–15 mm long, 7–12 mm wide; apex rounded to obtuse; base rounded to ± truncate; margins usually strongly recurved; surfaces mid green; petiole to 2 mm long.
Flowers axillary, part inflorescence 1-flowered; bracteoles persistent, c. 5 mm long. Calyx 6.5–8 mm long; tube c. 4 mm long; upper lobe 3–3.5 mm long, not or only slightly enlarged in fruit. Corolla 12–15 mm long, pale mauve to mauve, with orange markings in throat. Anthers with appendage 1–1.3 mm long.
Flowering: sparingly throughout year.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest and shrubland, on coastal headlands and near-coastal ranges, on sandstone; from Nelson Bay to Beecroft Peninsula.

Threatened species: NSW BCA: Vulnerable; Commonwealth EPBC: Vulnerable
Frequently endangered by urban development.
