Portulaca filifolia F.Muell. APNI* 
Description: Stout erect annual with stems to 20 cm long.
Axillary hairs conspicuous, usually > 5 mm long.
Leaves linear, terete, 10–25 mm long. Flowers in 3–10-flowered heads. Petals 4–10 mm long, yellow. Stamens 12–30.
Capsule 3–5 mm long, operculum rounded or dome-shaped, c. twice as long as the base; seeds grey-black, testa cells stellate at base and most tuberculate, the tubercles nippled and pointed.
Flowering: October–March
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sandplain areas.
NSW subdivisions: NWS, NWP, NFWP
Other Australian states: Qld S.A.
Further work is needed on the Australian populations to determine whether this species and a number of others should be recognized as infraspecific taxa of P. pilosa as proposed by Geesink (1969).
