Description: Shrub to 3 m high, branchlets with dense grey stellate hairs and sparse simple hairs.
Leaves ovate to obovate, 2–4 cm long, 15–30 mm wide, apex obtuse, margins entire, ± undulate; upper surface glabrous except for minute stellate pubescence in grooves above main veins; lower surface pale stellate-pubescent, with a few long rusty simple hairs on midvein (sometimes also on larger secondary veins). Stipules ovate, 4–6 mm long.
Flowers lemon-yellow, externally greyish with dense stellate and sparse to mid-dense simple hairs, in large pyramidal panicles to 10 cm long. Sepals not persistent in fruit. Petals ± spathulate.
Capsule and hypanthium sparsely stellate-hairy, ovary summit with simple hairs.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest or woodland, usually on shallow soils, occasionally fringing water courses; rare in this State, collected in the Brogo area. In sclerophyll forest or woodland, usually on shallow soils, occasionally fringing water courses.
