Description: Shrub 1–2 m high, young stems with sparse, loosely appressed greyish yellow or rusty simple hairs and dense greyish yellow stellate hairs.
Leaves elliptic, 1–3 cm long, 5–15 mm wide, apex cuneate; margins sometimes slightly recurved; upper surface glabrous; lower surface pubescent with greyish stellate hairs, mid vein and secondary veins with pale or rusty hairs; stipules 1–2 mm long, shed early.
Flowers golden-yellow in terminal panicles 2–5 cm diam. Sepals not persistent in fruit. Petals spathulate.
Capsule, hypanthium and sepals with long greyish simple hairs.
Distribution and occurrence: rows in dry sclerophyll forest on shallow soil, confined to an area between Bungonia and Goulburn; rare. In dry sclerophyll forest on shallow soil.
