Pneumatopteris sogerensis (A.Gepp) Holttum APNI* Synonyms: Cyclosorus truncatus APNI*
Description: Rhizome erect, forming a small trunk in old plants, bearing broad, pale brown scales.
Fronds to 1.8 m long; stipe to 30 cm long, glabrous; lamina dark green, 1-pinnate with pinnae pinnatifid, with up to 40 pairs of pinnae, lower surface glabrous; longest pinnae often c. 30 cm long with broad, blunt, shallow lobes divided c. halfway to midvein; basal pinnae abruptly reduced in size, the lowest 10 mm long or smaller.
Sori in regular parallel rows, indusium glabrous.
Distribution and occurrence: Large tufted fern found along streams in rainforest; rare, north of the Clarence R.
