Description: Rigid, much-branched spinescent to 5 m high; branchlets glabrescent, short lateral branchlets spinose.
Leaves ovate to ± circular, usually 0.2–1 cm long, 2–5 mm wide, margins often undulate and uneven but not toothed, rapidly glabrescent; petiole 1–2 mm long.
Flowers solitary, axillary or terminal; pedicels to 2 mm long, pubescent. Sepals c. 2 mm long, ciliate. Petals usually c. 6 mm long, white. Ovary hairy.
Capsule globose, 7–10 mm long and diam., ± smooth, glabrous or nearly so, yellow-brown, 2- or 3-locular, each loculus with c. 2 orange or red seeds.
