Description: Erect shrub, young branchlets moderately hairy.
Leaves linear, 2–5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide, sometimes incurved slightly, concave, smooth, glabrous or sparsely hairy when very young, soon glabrescent.
Inflorescences growing on into a leafy shoot; flowers mostly subtended by leaves; pedicels 4–9 mm long, suberect to spreading. Tepals 9–11 mm long, obtuse or acute. Ovary glabrous.
Distribution and occurrence: in dry sclerophyll forest to on siliceous soils; coastal districts north of Kempsey.
