Paspalidium gracile (R.Br.) Hughes APNI* 
Description: Wiry tufted perennial to 0.8 m high with knotted rootstock and extravaginal shoots.
Leaves with sheath glabrous, or sometimes with tubercle-based hairs; ligule a row of cilia, c. 1–1.5 mm long; blade to 3.5 mm wide, often with hairs to 0.6 mm long.
Panicle at length much exserted, 4–10 cm long. Spikelets 2–2.75 mm long, with a marked constriction c. 25% of their length from the base. Lower glume c. 50–75% as long as the spikelet, ± acute, 3–5-nerved, glabrous or shortly pubescent; upper c. 80–90% as long as the spikelet, 5–11-nerved. Lower lemma sterile, equalling the spikelet in size and shape, slightly constricted towards the base, 5-nerved; palea minute or absent. Upper lemma obovate to elliptic, minutely apiculate, broadly stipe-like near the base, striolate, distinctly finely transversely rugose.
Flowering: summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows on rocky hillsides.
