Description: Shrub to medium-sized tree to 8 m high; branchlets with decurrent ridges, finely hairy.
Leaves bipinnate with 8–13 pairs of pinnae; rachis 12–23 cm long, finely hairy and with at least a jugary gland between terminal pinnae; rachis of pinnae 3–12 cm long, finely hairy; pinnules 15–40 pairs per pinna, oblong, 4–10 mm long, 1–4 mm wide, asymmetric, apex acute, mucronate, mostly glabrous; petiole 3–7 cm long, prominent gland about halfway along; stipules c. 2 mm long.
Racemes often paired, 4–8 cm long; finely hairy; peduncles 1–3 cm long. Calyx 2–3 mm long. Corolla 4–6 mm long, greenish yellow. Stamens 6–8 mm long.
Pod oblong, 8–12 cm long, 1.5–2.5 cm wide, glabrous, yellow to red; stipe 10–20 mm long; seeds 6–12, black, transverse.

Distribution and occurrence: and Sept. Endemic to W.A., widely naturalized but not common; chiefly on the coast south from Newcastle, also in inland districts south from Baan Baa.
