Oxalis brasiliensis Lodd., G.Lodd. & T.Lodd. APNI* Synonyms: Oxalis macachin Arechav. APNI*
Description: Herb with stem reduced, appearing absent; bulbs globose, c. 1 cm long, outer surface whitish, vertically ridged; bulbils formed from old bulb on stolons to 15 cm long.
Leaves c. 15, 3-foliolate; leaflets cuneate to obcordate, 1–4 cm long, 1–4.5 cm wide, emarginate to slightly lobed, sinus to about a fifth the length of leaflet; lobes rounded; petiole 4–10 cm long; stipules tapering into petiole.
Inflorescences 1–4-flowered. Petals 18–20 mm long, pale mauve, pink to purple.
Fruit not known in Aust.
Flowering: July–December
Distribution and occurrence: Grows along roads and near creeks and rivers, probably a garden escape. Native of S Amer.
