Olearia chrysophylla (DC.) Benth. APNI*
Description: Shrub to 3 m high.
Leaves opposite, scattered; lamina elliptic, 15–115 mm long, 4–38 mm wide; apex acute, mucronate; margins indistinctly and irregularly toothed or entire or sinuous, flat; surfaces discolorous, upper surface glabrous, lower surface pale brown-felted; venation reticulate; petiole to 12 mm long.
Heads terminal, in panicles, pedunculate, 22–28 mm diam.; peduncle to 53 mm long. Ray florets 4–7, white. Disc florets 12–14, yellow.
Achenes glabrous; pappus 2-seriate with 73–85 bristles.
Flowering: November–January
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest, chiefly at higher altitudes; from New England N.P. to the Jenolan Caves and inland to Bathurst district.
