Oldenlandia corymbosa L. APNI* Description: Decumbent or prostrate annual herbs, divaricately branched; branchlets terete or ribbed, glabrous, smooth or slightly rough on ribs.
Leaves linear to narrow-elliptic,10–30 mm long, 1–5.5 mm wide, glabrous or with minute scabrous hairs on upper surface; base attenuate; apex acute.
Flowers in 2–7-flowered umbel-like corymbs, or flowers solitary in leaf axils; peduncle 3–17 mm long; pedicels 1–7 mm long; both glabrous or with a few scattered minute hairs; bracts minute. Calyx c. 1 mm diameter; lobes triangular,1–1.5 mm long, keeled, slightly rough on margins and keel. Corolla white, glabrous outside; tube 0.5–1 mm long; lobes ovate, 0.5–1.5mm long with a line of hairs at base. Stamens and style included in corolla tube.
Capsule broadly ovoid, 1.5–2.5 mm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, slightly furrowed; 'beak' scarcely raised, included in persistent calyx lobes. Seeds many, obconical; surface reticulate-areolate.
Distribution and occurrence: a pan-tropical weed, first recorded in Queensland in 1932, now widespread in northern Australia. Lawns, garden beds and other disturbed sites.
