Notothixos incanus (Hook.) Oliv. APNI* 
Description: Compact erect plant to 0.5 m high with indumentum of short white stellate hairs with scattered longer dendritic ones, becoming sparse and giving a grey-green colour.
Prophylls and cataphylls 0.6–1 mm long; cataphylls c. 1 mm above prophylls.
Leaves cuneate to spathulate, 1.5–2.5 cm long, usually 5–7 mm wide, apex rounded to truncate with a small blunt mucro, base attenuate, not distinctly petiolate. Inflorescence a single cymule of usually 3 flowers; peduncle erect, c. 2 mm long; bracts narrow-triangular, c. 1 mm long, spreading. Male flower c. 1.5 mm diam.; stipe c. 1.5 mm long. Female flower c. 3 mm long.
Fruit fusiform, c. 13 mm long, stipitate, the tepals cap-like at apex.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: The usual hosts are species of Melaleuca and Callistemon; coastal districts and adjacent ranges, north from Kendall.
