Mitrasacme alsinoides R.Br. APNI*
Description: Annual herb to c. 21 cm high; branches weak, terete, hairy; hairs minute, ± appressed.
Leaves with lamina ovate or narrow-ovate, usually 2–10 mm long, 2–5 mm wide; apex acute; margins flat; surface glabrous or with a few hairs.
Flowers solitary in upper axils; pedicels 0.4–1.2 cm long, up to c. 3 cm long in fruit, sparsely and minutely hairy. Calyx 2–3 mm long, 4-lobed; lobes about equal to tube. Corolla 5–7 mm long; lobes 2–2.5 mm long.
Capsule c. 2 mm diam.
Flowering: mostly spring–autumn.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in damp peaty or sandy soils associated with swampy areas; north from the Camden area.
