Description: Erect shrub 1–4 m high with stringy, orange-brown bark.
Leaves obovate, elliptic to oblong, 0.5–4.1 mm long, 0.6–1.4 mm wide, margins entire to irregularly and finely toothed; oil dots conspicuous.
Flowers solitary in upper axils, peduncle 0.3–1.6 mm long; bracteoles 0.7–0.9 mm long, caducous. Hypanthium 0.9–1.6 mm long, obconical, ribs rounded. Sepals c. 0.5 mm long, membranous, margins usually minutely toothed. Petals circular to elliptic, 0.5–1.2 mm long, cream, rarely pink towards apex. Stamens 5, 1–1.5 mm long.
Fruit scarcely enlarged from flower.
Flowering: Flowers July–September
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in heath and low woodland in crevices of rocky outcrops and in shallow soil surrounding bare slope, in open and exposed situations; rare, chiefly confined to Severn R. N.R.
