Melaleuca capitata Cheel APNI* 
Description: Shrub to 2 m high with scaly bark, young branchlets villous.
Leaves alternate, very narrow-elliptic, 10–25 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, apex acute to apiculate, glabrous; petiole 1.5–3 mm long.
Inflorescences dense heads or short spikes; rachis villous. Flowers solitary within each bract, white to cream. Sepals villous. Petals ± circular, 2.5–3.5 mm long. Stamens 14–22 per bundle; claw 1–2 mm long.
Fruit globose to urceolate, 4–7 mm diam., orifice 2–3 mm diam.; sepals not persistent.
Flowering: summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in heath or dry sclerophyll forest on sandstone; from Bundanoon to Braidwood.
