Macrozamia secunda (Benth.) C.Moore APNI*
Description: Stem mostly subterranean, 8–15 cm diam.
Leaves 2–12 in the crown, 60–80 cm long, rachis not or slightly twisted; pinnae 80–170, standing vertically on the upper side of the rachis, simple, longest 8–20 cm long, 3–8 mm wide, sometimes a few basal ones reduced, often glaucous, entire or with 2 or 3 minute apical teeth, with 5–11 prominent veins below; petiole 5–15 cm long.
Male cones 15–20 cm long, 4–5 cm diam., spines to 1 cm long. Female cones 15–25 cm long, 7–9 cm diam., longest spines to 3 cm long; seeds 2–3.5 cm long, scarlet.
Distribution and occurrence: in dry sclerophyll forest on sandy or stony country; on the Slopes and adjacent ranges, south from Mendooran - Rylstone area. Dry sclerophyll forest on sandy or stony country.
