Macrozamia reducta K.D.Hill & D.L.Jones APNI* 
Description: Stem mainly subterranean, rarely arborescent, to 0.4 m high, 20–40 cm diam.
Leaves 12–40 in crown, 70–150 cm long, rachis not spirally twisted; pinnae 75–120, bright to mid-green, semi-glossy; discolorous, longest pinnae simple, 16–32 cm long, 5–9 mm wide, basal pinnae reduced to spines; petiole 13–30 cm long.
Male cones 25–33 cm long, 6.5–7.5 cm diam.; spines 0.2–2.5 cm long. Female cones 16–23 cm long, 9–12 cm diam.; spines 0.5–7 cm long; seeds ovoid 2.4–3 cm long, 2–2.6 cm wide, red.
Distribution and occurrence: Locally abundant in dry sclerophyll woodlands on sandy soils over sandstone ridges from the western suburbs of Newcastle west almost to Mudgee and south to Glen Davis. Dry sclerophyll woodlands on sandy soils over sandstone ridges.
