Macrozamia lucida L.A.S.Johnson APNI*
Description: Stem mostly subterranean to 10–20 cm diam., or more.
Leaves mostly 2–15 in the crown, 80–110 cm long, rachis not or scarcely twisted; pinnae 50–100, simple, longest 15–35 cm long, 7–12 mm wide, with 5–11 prominent veins below; petiole 25–50 cm long.
Male cones c. 15 cm long, c. 4 cm diam., spines to 1.2 cm long. Female cones 15–20 cm long, 7.5–9 cm diam.; seeds c. 2.5 cm long, almost as wide, reddish. Juvenile plants from near Dalmorton were identified as this species, but it now appears that they are a juvenile form of M. moorei, which occurs in the area.
Distribution and occurrence: CLosed moist forest of the Border Ranges Coastal wet sclerophyll forest.
