Description: Stem subterranean, 15–30 cm diam.
Leaves 3–10 in crown, 110–150 cm long, rachis not twisted to moderately twisted; pinnae 90–140, simple, grey-green, semi-glossy; discolorous; longest pinnae 22–31 cm long, 9–14 mm wide; basal pinnae not reduced to spines; petiole 20–35 cm long.
Male cones 16–32 cm long, 6–6.5 cm diam.; spines 0–1 cm long. Female cones 24 cm long, 11.5 cm diam.; spines 20–55 mm long; seeds ovoid, 3–3.2 cm long, 2.4–2.6 cm wide, red.
Distribution and occurrence: Locally common in dry sclerophyll woodland on undulating country on sandstone, restricted to a limited area around Mountain Lagoon in the Blue Mts. In dry sclerophyll woodland on undulating country on sandstone.
