Linaria arvensis (L.) Desf. APNI* 
Description: Erect glaucous annual herb, 10–40 cm high, simple or much-branched, glabrous except for glandular-hairy inflorescence.
Leaves whorled below, alternate up stem, linear to narrow-elliptic, 0.4–3.5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide.
Inflorescence many-flowered, at first dense, elongating in fruit; bracts 1–3 mm long; flowers ± sessile, pedicels 1–2 mm in fruit. Sepals 2 mm long, c. 3 mm in fruit. Corolla 3–4 mm long, pale blue to purple, palate at least sometimes white; spur 1.5–3 mm long, curved; upper lip pointed outwards, lower lip longest, recurved.
Capsule ± globose, 3–4 mm long, glabrous, breaking in apical half into 4–6 valves.
Flowering: chiefly spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows chiefly in disturbed sites along roadsides and railway lines, or in pasture, and in forest and woodland; widespread.
