Description: Prostrate herb; stems little-branched, up to 20 cm long, often rooting at the nodes, hirsute.
Leaves mostly ovate to broad-ovate, mostly 4–8 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, apex obtuse to acute, lamina sparsely hirsute to ± glabrous; petiole 1–2 mm long; stipules with margins bristly-ciliate with 1–3 short, resinous teeth.
Flowers subsessile to shortly pedunculate. Calyx 2-lobed, lobes narrow-triangular. Corolla narrowly funnel-shaped, 10–12 mm long, cream; lobes short 1–1.5 mm long. Stamens 4 or 5, much longer than the corolla. Stigmas long-exserted.
Fruit ovoid, 3–4 mm long, ± fleshy, red, crowned by persistent calyx lobes.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sclerophyll forest near water; uncommon, few pre-1935 records from Dorrigo district and Snowy Mts.
