Leptospermum thompsonii Joy Thomps. APNI* 
Description: Shrub to > 2 m high, bark rough, fibrous and flaky, younger stems pubescent.
Leaves broad-elliptic to obovate, 10–15 mm long, 4–6 mm wide, margins flat or recurving, tardily glabrescent; apex broad-acuminate, incurving, tip broad and pungent; base narrowing to a short petiole often thickened behind the base and frequently laterally enlarged there.
Flowers solitary, c. 15 mm diam., white. Hypanthium c. 4 mm long, pubescent. Sepals c. 3 mm long, pubescent. Petals 4–6 mm long. Stamens 2–3 mm long. Ovary usually 5-locular.
Fruit c. 10 mm diam., surface pubescent, lifting and flaking, valves spreading to the rim, or wider.
Flowering: mostly December–March
Distribution and occurrence: In moist places in forest at Clyde Mtn.
