Leptospermum petraeum Joy Thomps. APNI*
Description: Shrub to 3 m high, bark close, later flaking in strips, younger stems shortly pubescent.
Leaves aromatic, broad-elliptic, variable in size, usually c. 15 mm long and 5–6 mm wide, thick, younger leaves incurved or infolded, older leaves flat or recurved, both surfaces glabrescent; apex acute or acuminate, point pungent; base rounded to a thick-based petiole.
Flowers solitary, c. 22 mm diam., white. Hypanthium 4 mm long, glabrous or shortly pubescent. Sepals 4–6 mm long, glabrous. Petals c. 7 mm long. Stamens c. 2.5–3 mm long. Ovary 5-locular.
Fruit 7–8 mm diam., surface lifting, later scaly, valves spreading to be wider than the rim.
Flowering: possibly November–April
Distribution and occurrence: Known only from shrubby areas on exposed rocky outcrops near Kanangra.
