Leptospermum arachnoides Gaertn. APNI* 
Description: Shrub to 2 m or more high, bark rough, peeling in flaky layers, younger stems pubescent.
Leaves elliptic to lanceolate or oblanceolate, usually 10–20 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, thick, incurved with a tendency to twist spirally, glabrous at least in part; apex tapering, point pungent; base tapering, usually expanded to a very short broad petiole.
Flowers solitary, c. 10 mm diam., white. Hypanthium c. 2 mm long, pubescent. Sepals c. 2 mm long, pubescent. Petals c. 4 mm long. Stamens c. 2 mm long. Ovary 4- or 5-locular.
Fruit 5–8 mm diam., surface pubescent, lifting and ultimately flaking; rim somewhat woody, valves slightly spreading.
Flowering: November–January
Distribution and occurrence: In moist heath and sclerophyll forest on shallow soils especially sandstone and granite, north from the Tinderry Ra.
